We ARE A
Fraternal Organization

Many long-lasting friendships began in our Council through
social and service activities. Quite a few couples were introduced at our many
social events, and such friendship ended in many happy marriages.
The membership finds out about our events through our outstanding
newsletter, The Knight Chatter. The same will have sections which describe
the State Council and the Supreme Council's activities. The Knight Chatter
is mailed monthly (except August) to all our members. We make sure that
District and State authorities receive a copy, as well as each of our parishes,
and all widows of our brothers. Every month about 800 copies are printed
and mailed.
New members enter our order about six
times a year thanks to the efforts of our excellent First Degree team.
Our brother Joe Murphy, PGK, PCP, is our First Degree Team Captain. The
Team presently has all available parts filled, but we would like to have a second
complete Team for emergencies. If you have some thespian talents or would
like to see if you do, volunteer to learn one of the parts.
The Rock Creek Council Admissions committee questions each prospective
member and explains to him the requirements for membership, and what our order
has to offer to its members. They are the first "taste" an outsider
will have of our organization, and their efforts cannot be underestimated.
The Membership and Retention committees work on plans geared to
acquiring new members and keeping the old ones with us. Most new members come
-of course- from our seven parishes, but there are a healthy number of members
who come from beyond those boundaries, so if you are not a member of one of
our parishes, do not despair, and apply just the same. We will certainly
welcome you.
Our Lecturer prepares instructive,
interesting and entertaining programs which we enjoy at some of our Social Meetings.
These programs have included films, conferences, and talks given by selected
guests. The topics are as varied as the guests: they go from religious
and family matters, to historic, geographic, or environmental issues.
All our friends and wives are invited to such programs.
Certainly there is something for everybody at the multiple activities
of Rock Creek Council
